CNE reconsiders decision on dissemination of “Exit Poll”
So it was revealed by the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym), Domingo Paredes, who is considering to lift the ban on the media to disseminate unofficial results of the elections of next February 17, once the voting process is completed (17:00) and authorize the implementation of the “Exit Poll” to know the winners immediately.
Paredes affirms the CNE expects to resume this possibility, “despite the previous bad experiences“, due to the “high levels of uncertainty” felt by voters after the voting period ends.
According to election sources, the possibility of authorizing the dissemination of election forecasts would have been taken into account due to a request sent from the seized TV Stations. The decision will be announced in the upcoming days.
