CNE Reports Signature Forgery

The prosecutor Galo Chiriboga (center) offered the CNE president, Domingo Paredes (right), to open an inquiry about the complaint.
Domingo Paredes, president of the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym), reported yesterday, to the general attorney, Galo Chiriboga, an alleged forgery of 293 firms, some of which had been used on applications for registration or reregistration of political organizations.
“Firm forgery is a crime, is very delicate, so the complaint in the Office opens an investigation space to determine responsibilities and go to the very end of it,” said Paredes without specifying the names of the parties or movements that would be involved.
The CNE announced that will enable a link on its website for citizens to check whether any political organization forged their identity to achieve registration.
