Communication Bill would be ready for vote
The first project to be approved by the National Assembly will be the Communications Act, with the support of the ruling party Alianza Pais (AP), while the other political forces do not have a clear idea of how the procedure be carried out.
The path set for the vote on the draft will be carried out with each article, this is after the resolution of April 11, 2012, which was approved with 63 votes.
AP Members speak of three options for the procedure: that the debate is closed and flow directly to the vote, but also that a casual committee be appointed and elect a speaker for the operation to be approved and the full Assembly that designation certifies as representative Mauro Andino bill and collect observations.
However, opposition members like Pachakutik, PSP, CREO and PSC pointed out that a debate should be done so that the new legislators are aware of the project, because more than 50% of assembly members are new.
The newly elected president of the Assembly, Gabriela Rivadeneira, confirmed that the project is ready to vote and that Mauro Andino, who was the speaker, have the last word at the time of voting submit articles.
For his part, the Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa, said he is not aware of the bill because it was not presidential initiative, however, he did consider that the project should go first because it is ready to vote, and is a fundamental law for their political project.
