Companies opened accounts in Swiss banks
Posted On 08 May 2016
Although the beneficiary of Arkdale is Juan Andres Baquerizo Escobar, the directors of this firm are also executives of the Mossack Fonseca law firm (MF). They are Mirzellia Pinon and Yakeline Perez. This is stated in MF documents leaked by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and analyzed by daily El Universo.
They gave in September 2013 an authorization to open bank accounts in the EFG Bank and EFG Capital, both based in Switzerland.
The next month the same thing happened with Jaime Baquerizo Escobar owner of the Syrafleur company. He was granted permission from the directors, Ricardo Samaniego and Yakeline Perez to open accounts in the same bank institutions.
In January 2014, the director of Grand View and Lake View, Roger John Thompson, authorized them to open accounts in those same Swiss institutions.
In addition, in the middle of that year, MF executives processed documents for Arkdale and Grand View so these open accounts at the Royal Bank of Canada (Suisse) SA.
In the Panama papers there is no sign of banking transactions, as brothers Baquerizo Escobar received the powers of each company, so they can manage the accounts without passing requesting authorization from MF (I).
