Costa Rica arrested a trafficker of people with six Ecuadorian migrants
Ecuadornews:
The Costa Rican Border Police detained an alleged human smuggler with six Ecuadorian migrants traveling through the mountainous areas of Golfito, a town in the southeast of the country. The Ecuadorians would have entered the Central American country without passing through immigration controls, authorities said.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, the controls carried out by the Border Police allowed the detention of this alleged coyote, of Costa Rican nationality, in the Guaycará de Golfito area, in order to circumvent the various police controls. According to the authorities, the suspect attempted to flee when he was caught by the police but was arrested by the officers, while the Ecuadorian migrants were transferred to the local offices of the Directorate of Migration.
