Credit Unions record a slight growth

The Ecuadorian Integration Network of Savings and Credit Unions, which groups 37 institutions, reports that in the first quarter of the year their assets grew by 7% from $ 5,087 million in December 2016 to $ 5,161 million in March of the current year. In addition, deposits increased by 8%, reaching $ 4,021 million in the same period.

The Magap distributed vaccines imported from Chile

More than 400 small dairy producers in Imbabura, Chimborazo and Cotopaxi received 838 vaccines, imported by the Government from Chile, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries (Magap). This state body reported that the cattle races are friesian holstein and kiwi cross races (of New Zealand origin), and are part of the Plan for Genetic Improvement and Bovine Repopulation, which is executed by the Undersecretariat of Livestock.

Holcim received thirteen green certifications

Holcim Ecuador reduced water consumption by 48% in its concrete plants and its fossil fuel consumption by 16.8%, resulting in a reduction of CO2 emissions. Eight of the plants of the concrete company received thus, thirteen Punto Verde environmental certifications. The certifications were awarded by the Minister of the Environment Walter Garcia.
