Mobile telephony users will be able to identify calls for information, direct sales, commercial, advertising or proselytizing from a customer service center or call center that they receive on their cell phone and decide whether or not to answer, according to government authorities announced this Wednesday.
Government policy, according to the Ministry of Telecommunications, is mandatory for providers of the Advanced Mobile Service, Claro, Movistar, CNT, as well as for natural or legal persons who make calls for information, direct sales, commercial, advertising or proselytizing.
Only mobile phones that do not have the technology to identify the call will be the exception
The Telecommunications Regulation and Control Agency (Arcotel) will be responsible for applying the government provision in three phases.
To do this, mobile operators will adjust their networks to allow the origin of a callto be identified.
