Customs revenue grew 4.5% in 2013

The national customs service of Ecuador (NES) reported yesterday that last year was registered the collection of $3.608 million in taxes, being the highest figure for the past 8 years.
According to the NES, which stated through a press release, the funds raised during the year of 2013 are $158 million more than 2012, year in which was registered a revenue of $3.450 billion, which is reflected in an increase of 4.5 percent, which would represent a record.
In 2012, according to statistics of the NES, income taxes of $3.225 million were registered, in 2010 $3.1 billion; 2009 $2.5 billion, showing a decline over the previous year, 2008, when w $2,800 million were collected. Meanwhile, in 2006 and 2007 the collection was of $2,200 and $2.4 billion, respectively.
