Danilo Carrera, says he sees no solution

The impediment that have had some Ecuadorian athletes to participate in international competitions increases the conflict of the national Olympic sports, to which the President of the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee (COE), Danilo Carrera, does not see any solution.

In an interview with Ecuavisa, on last Wednesday, Carrera said: “The struggle is not between the Sports Minister (José Cevallos) and the COE, but with the International Olympic Committee (IOC)”.

“I see no solution, because the COE can not turn back and the IOC will defend its autonomy. The resolution does not lie in the COE but on  the IOC, because I have clear instructions not to recognize these directories, “said the president of the institution.

Career referred to the directories of 45 federations who were elected with the support of the Ministry of Sport and which are not recognized by the international federations, because these “have supported those recognized by the COE” he said.
