Diego Martinez and Katia Torres will occupy Pedro Delgado’s charges
The subsecretary-General of Science, Technology and Innovation, Diego Martinez and Katia Torres Sanchez, Secretary of Public Sector Property Management (Inmobiliar), will leave their current positions and move into the abandoned charges of Pedro Delgado, the cousin of the Ecuadorian President Correa who resigned after admitting that he had lied about his title of economist.
Martinez is the new chairman of the Central Bank of Ecuador, while Torres will be the new legal representative of the Management Unit Public Law (Ugedep).
After 28 days of the resignation of Pedro Delgado for forging his third degree title, Lenin Moreno, President in charge, made the official appointments yesterday during a ceremony in the Yellow Room.
Martinez spoke briefly about the departure of Delgado saying it’s “complicated and very painful for the government. This is a topic that is not tolerated and for which many decisions have been made.” The new official, however, clarified that “all decisions made by the board of the Central Bank (during Delgado’s period) are valid.”
While Torres will assume the management of the companies seized by the AGD-CFN Trust No more impunity, since she is the representative of the Ugedep.
