E-China Day seeks to activate trade

Thenext December 5th will be for the first time in Ecuador anonline trade with China within the so-called International Forum of E-commercewith China or E-China Day.

The event, organized by the Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce of China, will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Wyndham Guayaquil Hotel, and will be addressed to Ecuadorian producers, traders and entrepreneurs interested in entering the Chinese market, through the different digital platforms and technological tools that China currently uses to do business.

José Antonio Hidalgo, president of the Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce of China, said yesterday during the announcement of the activity that electronic commerce with China grew last year by 23.8% and is one of the main channels to reach the Chinese consumer.

However, he commented that the Ecuadorian businessman must know the operation of the platforms used in China, different from those of the West.

“TheAlibaba group (from China) has several platforms (…) it becomes thecounterpart of Ebay,” he said as an example. (I)
