Ecuador fears that Pipeline Explosion Could be Worse than the U.S.
Due to the explosion of the gas pipeline on last Tuesday in the city of Sissonville, West Virginia (USA), which generated flames of over 30 meters high, burned houses and caused the blocking of that road for hours, also left without electricity and telephone services to more than 1,600 people.
This event sparked a similar fear in the inhabitants near the Monteverde-Pascuales pipeline, which has a dispute with the locals of the coast road and Northwest, who demand that Petroecuador install the pipe in unpopulated areas of the city, as scheduled last July which led to the signature of an agreement with the Municipality.
Petroecuador has guaranteed the security of the system, even added on last Tuesday, November 11, that the technicians who supervised the pipe sector in Flor de Bastion said they would increase them above the international standard.
