Ecuador Queen of 2012 Carnival
Ana Maria Tamayo Cevallos was elected Queen of 2012 Carnival in the midst of a festive and colorful ceremony, thus inaugurating the carnival celebrations.
“This is my dream, I promise to support young artists and publicize tourism because Guayaquil is beautiful,” she said excitedly.
Tamayo is committed to promoting the festive Carnival spirit in Ecuador, strengthening the tradition and spreading the local folklore.
Kiara Beltran was chosen Vice-queen while Sthefanie Vallejo Ruiz, received the Miss Tourism, Photogenic, Friendship and Romanel ribbon.
Carmen Romero, municipal director of Civic Promotion, said that the sovereign will participate in the celebrations which the council has organized for this holiday carnival.
