Ecuador is working with Mexico by disappearances in transit countries
The Foreign Ministry is working on coordinated investigation processes with Prosecutions of Ecuador and Mexico in order to determine the whereabouts of fellow countrymen reported to the entity as missing in transit countries.
The zonal coordination 6 of the Foreign Ministry is aware of a total of 104 cases, of which 38 have been resolved in Azuay, 22 in Canar and 6 in Morona Santiago. Meanwhile, 38 cases are currently in management.
The agency said that the cases known for localization follow a rigorous inquiry process that includes issuing a tracking questionnaire, the validation and comparison of clothing, DNA evidence and photographs.
The Foreign Ministry explained that these measures are made with prosecutors, consulates and embassies located mainly in transit countries of migrants.
