Ecuador knows full-blown Europe that exhibits its best side in Expo 360
Ecuadornews:

The Europa 360 Expo, which opened on Wednesday October 10 in Quito, seeks to promote business opportunities between Ecuador and the countries of the European Union, in a multi-sectorial fair that exposes the best technological and cultural facet of the old continent.
More than 200 European and Ecuadorian companies will be concentrated until next Saturday at the modern Metropolitan Exhibition Center of Quito, built in a sector of the old airport of the capital, where stands have been placed that serve as showcases for countries such as Italy, France, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Thematic pavilions have also been installed on the automotive industry, the Ecuador-EU trade agreement, one for the Ecuadorian exportable offer, a large conference space, a business room and a stage dedicated to artistic and musical presentations.
Automobiles, robotic arms, industrial equipment, electronic instruments, technology for telecommunications, clothing, leather garments, tourism plans, business services, airlines and shipping, food industry, wines, sausages and even pet clothing offers the Expo 360. Also, trade opportunities, logistics services, investment possibilities and a wide range of business options with Europe. Also the renowned Ecuadorian chocolate, its tall coffee, the guayusa (infusion), the famous Andean roses and the host’s food offer have space at the fair.
The Europa 360 Expo is a pioneer in Ecuador and its opening has generated great interest among the Ecuadorian public, especially entrepreneurs who want to explore new business opportunities with the community block. Organized by the Eurocameras and with the support of the Delegation of the EU in Ecuador, the fair also offers an opportunity to small, medium and large Ecuadorian companies to soak up the development of the so-called digital economy and the concept of smart city.
This Fair has been working “for a year or so”, in view of the need for Ecuadorians to get to know Europe better and its offer of goods and services, said Jörg Zehnle, general manager of the Chamber of Industries and Trade, to Efe Ecuadorian-German, co-organizer of the fair.
He stressed, for example, that the meeting, which aims to attract some 20,000 visitors, will emphasize the European experience, particularly German, on the 4.0 technology or also called digital economy. The incorporation of this type of systems to the industry is essential and does not depend on whether the company is large or small, because without digitization they could be out of the market in a short time, said Zehnle. Jörg Zehnle, general manager of the Chamber of Industries and Commerce Ecuadorian-German.
“We are very interested in the fact that German companies can transmit their experience to Ecuador” around technology 4.0 or digitalization of processes, because we see that “the world is developing very fast,” he added.
And he said that with Expo 360 we have seen that “Europe can offer much more” to Ecuador, but also noted that the South American country knows very little about the advantages and opportunities offered by the old continent. He noted that for the last two years, Ecuador and the EU have maintained a trade agreement that Ecuadorians know, but that “many do not know how to take better advantage of the opportunities” that it offers.
And despite the fact that since the agreement was signed, trade between both parties has grown between 20 and 25 percent, the prospects for improvement are immense, he added. Therefore, Zehlen said that the fair represents a “cooperative exchange so that those who are just starting can talk with other companies with more experience” and improve their negotiations with the EU, “one of the most attractive markets in the world.”
It is a “win win for both”, added the businessman, who did not hesitate to ensure that Europe and Ecuador are “complementary, we are friends and we should take more advantage than before”, said the German representative. (I)
