Ecuador sends aid to the affected people by the strong winter in Peru

Posted On 17 Aug 2019
A plane of the Ecuadorian Air Force (FAE) took aid to Peru, to be distributed among the victims of the landslides and floods that are recorded in the neighboring country.
The same plane expected to bring this evening a group of Ecuadorians living in or passing through Peru and who were affected by the storm. However, this operation had drawbacks.
The Boeing 737 FAE 1030 aircraft took off yesterday morning with destination to Lima from the Simon Bolivar Air Base. The aircraft carried approximately 3,500 kilos of food rations for to the victims who have suffered the natural disaster. The aid comes from the Ecuadorian Government and the loading operation was carried out by military and civilian personnel.

According to information released by the FAE, after the aid was downloaded, the plane had to return with the Ecuadorian victims and land in Guayaquil at 16:30 and then continue en route to Quito to leave those who have relatives there.
The Foreign Ministry took part in this operation, which, however, did not provide details on the number of the compatriots “affected by the complicated climate” who arrived from Lima.
