Ecuadorian diplomat received a medal from the Peruvian Congress

The third secretary in charge of the consular functions of the Ecuadorian Embassyin Peru, Cosme Batallas Lara, received on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, the first Afro-Peruvian Culture Commemorative Medal, granted by the Congress, an official statement said.
Batallas was awarded by the Fujimorist congressman César Segura, who heads the Coordinator for the Development of Afro-Peruvian Peoples, “for his frequent support of Afro-Peruvian culture,” at a ceremony held at the Legislative Palace.
“It is necessary to make visible and recognize the work of the outstanding and outstanding Cosme Batallas, who with effort and dedication achieves success and, above all, contributes to the development of our peoples,” Segura said.
The Ecuadorian diplomat thanked the recognition and highlighted the work done by the Foreign Ministry of his country to include Afro-Ecuadorians in the world.The Peruvian Congress stressed that Batallas is a linguist with post-graduate studies in international relations and diplomacy at the National Institute of Higher Studies of Ecuador, as well as a lecturer of the Coordinator for the Development of Afro-Peruvian Peoples and the Afro-descendant Bureau of the Andean Community, among other organisms.
