Ecuadorian Government Prepares Decision on Assange’s Asylum
Posted On 13 Aug 2012
The Ecuadorian government assured last Friday that the decision about the political asylum of Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks, would be announced after the London Olympics, which ended yesterday.
Rafael Correa said he will respect the right to life and that, although he “likes Sweden and the UK so much”, he will take a sovereign decision.
Assange has been in the Embassy of Ecuador in London since last June 19.
Scotland Yard police revealed that the right after Assange leaves the Ecuadorian Embassy he will be arrested for violating the house arrest conditions he was given. MZ
