El telegrafo, among the best printed
Ecuadornews:
The first public newspaper in Ecuador ranked 102nd in the International Color Quality Club (ICQC), considered a world reference. Each time a person reads a newspaper copy El Telegrafo verifies that the color of the images of the texts and the advertising is clear and maintains the original intensity.
In addition, ink remains are not impregnated in the fingertips. These characteristics made the “Dean of the National Press” on the world list of high quality prints. He did so after participating for the fourth time in the International Color Quality Club (ICQC) contest for the 2018-2020 period.
The ICQC is considered as the world reference in terms of print quality in newspaper production. If a rotary produced in a particular printing center is able to give proof of a color print of constant quality, it becomes a member of the ICQC the following two years.
EL TELÉGRAFO achieved it and this year it was ranked 102, informed Marco Vivanco, manager of the State media that is printed in Guayaquil. The ICQC 2018-2020 contest was held between January and March of this year.
The official said that each month was sent to India (site where the jury is) a sample consisting of about 60 copies. As part of the bidding rules, the Cuboid element of Wan-Ifra was printed every business day of a specific week. Weekends were not included in the official calendar. The report of the participation in the contest arrived a few days ago at Vivanco’s office. The document, consisting of 25 pages, states that the evaluation includes the qualification of the printed test element “Cuboid” and the assessment of the quality of the general impression by an expert jury.
The results obtained serve to assess the quality of the printing samples and as an indicator of how participating companies can improve their processes. The ICQC is held every two years since 1994. Companies that have won repeatedly and / or have participated in the Wan-Ifra certification project can also integrate the so-called Star Club.
El Telegrafo had this 2018 its second best rating. The first was obtained in 2016 when it was ranked 73. Vivanco explained that this year the rating suffered a certain decline due to the quality of the paper used to print the copies of the public diary. But it remained in the ranking by its color standards, record accuracy, among other production characteristics. (I)
