Esmeraldas in Emergency due to flooding due to rains

The provincial Emergency Operations Committee (COE) issued 12 resolutions on Sunday, June 4, 2023, after the heavy flooding that affected Esmeraldas . In total, the following localities have been affected: Atacames (three parishes), Esmeraldas (five), Muisne (two) and Quinindé (three).

Among the most important decisions are that the Risk Management Secretariat will provide advice and support with humanitarian assistance from the municipalities for the activation of temporary accommodation for affected and homeless families: 

-UE Alfonso Quiñonez George (Tolita 1)  

– Blessed San Diego with a capacity of 40 people for the families affected in the new Concordia of the Esmeraldas canton

– León Febres Cordero , (Long lap)  

– EU Edilfo Benett (Codesa)  

– UE Jaime Hurtado (Struggle of the poor)  

– UE Camilo Borja (San Rafael) power will be restored over the course of days, because it is located in one of the neighborhoods most affected by the flood

– San Rafael Sports Complex – activated the sports center with energy

Además, la Prefectura de Esmeraldas facilitará tanqueros de agua para atender la emergencia en los diferentes cantones; así como camionetas para movilización de los grupos de trabajo. 

Sin olvidar la solicitud a BanEcuador para habilitar la línea de crédito SOS que permite el refinanciamiento y, de ser el caso, la reestructura del pago para los agricultores que enfrentan las afectaciones provocadas por la época invernal en la provincia.
