Fabricio Correa becomes politically invisible
After the National Electoral Council (CNE) did not approve the participation of the movement of Fabricio Correa, Equidad, Orden I Progreso (Equipo), the president’s brother, apparently got retired from his political career.
According to lawyer Ramiro Aguilar, Fabricio Correa “became a marginal person in Ecuadorian politics, always from the sidelines, never on the important stage.”
Aguilar says that Fabricio Correa failed because he could not define an opposition nor ally profile with the current government. “The political position of Fabricio is a mystery,” he said.
However, Jorge Falconi, General Secretary General of Equipo, said that the movement still has life and that several of its members (unspecified names) will participate in the 2013 elections, at the hands of Alianza Pais, Creo and Sociedad Patriotica.
