The billionaire Facebook announced last Wednesday that formalized the purchase of the instant messaging company WhatsApp for 19,000 million dollars, according to information sent to the Commission of the U.S. Securities and Exchange (SEC).

The deal, which has yet to be conducted, will involve the expenditure of 4,000 million dollars in cash, 12,000 million in Facebook shares and 3,000 million dollars in shares RSU (Restricted Stock Unit), a similar future issuance to the options on stocks.

“WhatsApp is in the way of connecting a billion people. Services reaching that milestone are incredible valuable,” said CEO and founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg.
