Family of Fausto Valdiviezo under police protection

On Monday, the family of journalist Fausto Valdiviezo Moscoso, who died last Thursday night, shot by an alleged assassin, is in police custody. So said officer Patricio Pazmino.

The officer reported that the house where Luz Moscoso lives, mother of the deceased, who resides in the Citadel La Atarazana, located north of Guayaquil, and also the house of his brother, Alfredo Valdiviezo, have police protection.

On Monday, Interior Minister, Jose Serrano, along with several uniformed  men visited the house of the mother of Valdiviezo. After a short conversation, he explained that the reason for their presence was solidarity with the journalist’s family on behalf of the Government and the National Police.

“I talked to the journalist’s mother (Misses Luz) and I committed myself to see that this crime does not go unpunished. We will provide answers to the public, because the investigations will advance and give concrete results,” said Serrano.

During an interview with one of the channels seized by the government he said that the police had “clues” of the attack on the journalist, but the details of these “clues” has not been referred to the family.
