Today Atty. Fernando Alarcon gave a press conference regarding the recent statements given by Economist Carlos Marx Carrasco. Alarcon explained that “the trial is not filed, it hasn’t even started. There are still several actions to be made.”

According to Alarcon there isn’t a law that allows to go against the assets of shareholders, even if a company has debts with the IRS. The attorney of Bananera Noboa S.A. reassured that Alvaro Noboa is not the legal representative or part of the judicial process performed by Carrasco. Therefore Alvaro Noboa is not subject to any injunction like a prohibition of leaving the country.

Finally Alarcon stated, “Bananera Noboa does not owe money to the IRS, and we will prove it in the courts.” AV
