Floods in Philippines leave 49 Dead

Forty nine people died after the heavy rains flooded Manila, Philippines, and more than 2 million people in Metro Manila and several Luzon provinces were affected by the heavy rains.
According to the National Disaster Risk Resolution and Management Council (NDRRMC) stated that most of the victims died by drowning. Twenty-six died in Metro Manila, including 11 who were buried alive in a landslide in Quezon city.
Reports of NDRRMC indicated that nineteen people died in the provinces of Pampanga, Zambales, Bulacan, and Bataan in Central Luzon. Another four perished in Batangas, Rizal, and Romblon.
The heavy rains in the Philippines have affected a total of 2,110,871 people in 16 provinces of the country. (AV)
