The Minister of the Interior, Jose Serrano, revealed yesterday through his Twitter account and during a television interview that who, allegedly paid $6.000 to common criminals to assassinate the former manager of the Sociedad Deportiva Aucas, Monica Gordon, was a person who worked as an accountant in the Gordon family businesses.

Serrano also noted that the intellectual author of the crime is not related to soccer, and who shot her is a common criminal. “The criminal had everything planned do so this tragedy to happen the day of the elections (of the Aucas), which at first confused the investigation,” said Serrano.

Through first investigations the police could learn that Gordon would have discovered that the worker embezzled around $250 billion from the company accounts, so she was planning an audit that could bring legal problems to the accountant.

Gordon was murdered on August 29 in the South of Quito by a person who entered her office, and before shooting her twice, in front of her father and her two sons, said: “This is for messing with the Aucas”, and security cameras recorded everything.

The police reported that the Judicial Police had been investigating since last February the  members of a gang that operated in the Center and North of Quito and Ibarra, and one of the suspects had the same characteristics of the subject who appeared in the video of the death of Gordon.

Yesterday, during the arraigment hearing that was held in Quito, Judge Nelson de la Cadena, issued a prison order for the two suspects, alleged intellectual and material perpetrators of the crime of Gordon.
