Former officials of Cofiec give their versions on Duzac’s case

Since last Monday at 09h00, Ivan Guerrero Rodriguez, former member of the Cofiec bank board (administered by the State), freely and voluntarily rendered his version in the Prosecution, regarding the case of the $ 800,000 loan given to the Argentinean Gaston Duzac in December 2011, at the money has not being paid.
After almost two hours after he made his statement, Guerrero did not speak to press, but his lawyer, Jose Molina Gallegos said, “his client had abstained in the board meeting, because it was an alternate member of Rocafuerte Insurance directory and official of Cofiec, if the guarantees would come from Rocafuerte then there would be a conflict of interest.”
When asked about why Guerrero did not opposed to the guarantees delivered of insurance certificates by Rocafuerte on Duzac’s behalf, the defense counsel explained that this issue is not subject to demand.
During the reception of versions, in this preliminary stage of carried out by the prosecution, Antonio Bunay, former president of Cofiec executive who approved the disbursement Duzac, is scheduled to appear tomorrow, while on Friday will attend Francisco Endara Clavijo, brother of former president of the Central Bank, Pedro Delgado.
