Gaddafi Wanted by the Penal Court
The district attorney of the International Penal Court requested yesterday that the judges emit arrest warrants against Muammar al Gaddafi and two members of his regime. Luis Moreno-Ocampo, the Argentinean district attorney, stated that Gaddafi, his son Seif al-Islam Gaddafi, and the chief of intelligence Abdulah al-Sanusi, were responsible of illegal attacks.
Gaddafi is being accused of shooting against unarmed demonstrators with sharpshooters. During a funeral march, Gaddafi again ordered to assassinate them. After these actions the International Penal Court is studying the evidence to emit the international arrest warrants.
The investigation began on March 3 due to the crimes against humanity performed since February. The chief of Italian diplomacy, Franco Frattini, believes that “the hours of the Libyan regime are numbered.”
