German athlete tested positive during doping control at Sochi
The German Olympic Committee reported that the IOC notified them this Thursday at the last minute that one of its athletes who takes part in the Sochi games tested positive in the first doping control. The second sample would be analyzed, added the German mission.
The Germans did not identified the athlete, the sporting activity or the substance. Athletes face a process for doping if both tests are positive, and it is very unusual that the sample ‘ B ‘ throws an opposite result to the sample ‘A’
The International Olympic Committee refused to confirm or deny the positive results, shielding itself under its normative to deal with such situations.
Any athlete who has been found guilty of an infringement for doping is exposed to a disqualification, in addition, their results will be forfeited and their medals will be stripped away.
