Giant alligator caught in Alabama exceeds record

An alligator of 4 meters with 80 centimeters in length and 454 kilos in weight was caught by a family weeks ago. The animal has set a new world record of Safari Club International.
AL.com reported that Safari Club International determined that the reptile was over 33 centimeters (13 inches), the previous record for an alligator caught in Texas.
The Stokes family caught the alligator in Alabama after a five-hour of battle, in a creek about 130 kilometers (80 miles) west of Montgomery.
In the first attempt weighing crane smashed lizard used by biologists, and needed to bring a bulldozer.
