The father of former Ecuadorian Vice President Jorge Glas Espinel, Jorge Heriberto Glas Viejó, must continue serving his 20-year sentence for the crime of rape, after the National Court of Justice reported that he declared the abandonment of an appeal for review that had presented the condemned.
The Court of Review of the Criminal Chamber of the National Court declared the abandonment of the appeal for review because the technical defense of Glas Viejó did not appear.
