Guayas finally announces results
After that last Friday the Electoral Court (TCE) send the expected notification that there is no recourse left to resolve by the Provincial Electoral Board of Guayas, immediately announced the results on the 20 seats that corresponded.
As had been calculated, of the 20 seats, 16 are from the ruling party Alianza PAIS and 4 for the alliance between the Partido Social Cristiano-Madera de Guerrero (PSC-MG).
Marcela Melendez, member of the Board, was the one who made the announcement, which came immediately after the TCE’s decisions on the challenges of the Partido Sociedad Patriotica (PSP) and the Partido Renovador Institucional Accion Nacional (PRIAN).
Now the remaining step is to celebrate the ceremony for the delivery of credentials to the elected provincial assembly members. “Most likely we will do it this Saturday April 13 at 10:00 at the Centro Civico,” said Melendez.
With the results formalized in Guayas, it was confirmed that Alianza PAIS places, on the new Assembly, 86 out of the 116 legislators elected in provincial representation. To these, 8 national and 6 on the foreign representation, are added, giving a total of 100 assembly members.
