Heavy rains assail China
According to the state news agency of Xinhua, Beijing has been assailed by one of the worst rains in 60 decades in the capital of China. Drowning was the main cause of the casualties; so far 25 people have drowned due to the strong rains.
The city hall of Beijing informed that six people perished when their home fell upon them, five more due to electric shocks and one more due to a lightning.
The average rain of last Saturday was of 17 cm high, but in the suburb district the water increased to 45 cm high. So far 22 of the 37 corpses have been identified. AV
