Hugo Chavez Returns to Cuba to Continue with Medical Treatment

Yesterday the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, sent a request to the National Assembly for a absence permit from the country, this type of requisites were foreseen in the Constitution when the leader is going to be for more than five days in foreign lands.
Chavez had planned to travel to Cuba yesterday to continue with his special treatment of hyperbaric oxygenation, six months after the last session of radiotherapy to which he was submitted by a cancer he said was cured on last October.
“I have been recommended begin a special treatment which consists in several stages of hyperbaric oxygenation that, along with physiotherapy continue to strengthening my health which I been experiencing for a while,” said Chavez in his request.
However, since his reelection Chavez has appeared in public on few occasions, most of them only leading the advice of ministers in Miraflores Palace and he even has stopped using his Twitter account.
