Inmates of Brazilian Prison Hold Hostages

This Monday after a prison riot in eastern Brazil, their inmates captured more than a 100 hostages. The rioting prisoners took over the facility near the coastal city of Aracaju, during last Sunday afternoon.
After the insurrection the prisoners have taken as hostage three wardens and 120 civilians. However as the negotiations were made, 27 civilians and one warden were released. In exchange, authorities restored water and electricity services to the complex.
So far there are no casualties reported, the 470 rioting inmates are demanding speedy trials and new administrators for the prison. Negotiations are still underway. (AV)
