INOCAR: Waves of 6, 5 feet Meters High Could Happen In Ecuadorian Coasts
According to the Naval Oceanographic Institute (INOCAR in Spanish), warned for today about the arrival of waves of about 1.5 to 2.3 meters high coming from the southwest coast of the continent in Ecuador. It is estimated that the ocean event will decline tomorrow.
INOCAR recommends swimmers at the shores of beaches to take the respective precautions of the case. It also recommends to notify their families before entering into the water and remain in the area designated for the, without going over the limit.
Thus, the Institute plans to avoid disasters like those from the past March 20th to 22th in which several rising tides caused havoc in the provinces of Esmeraldas, Manabi and El Oro, where $40 thousand were reported as the total damage in zone.
