The Attorney General’s cass is diluted in the Justice Commission. The ruling party will investigate everything. Chiriboga made an almost irrefutable presentation, says Luis Fernando Torres.
The ruling party recognized it. PAIS Alliance legislator and member of the Board of the Legislative Administration (CAL) Fausto Cayambe, included two former officials of the Government in his presentation on Ecuadorians who have money in tax havens and ‘offshore’ companies.
He presented the investigation at the Justice Commission before the intervention of Attorney General Galo Chiriboga, for the Panama Papers case.
Both names appeared in the last line of a Power Point page. But only their last names could be read: “Pareja and Bravo.”
Assemblyman of the opposition party Christian Social-Change Movement, Luis Fernando Torres, said: “The investigation should start with those two officials of the oil area: the former Minister of Hydrocarbons and the former manager of Petroecuador.”
According to Torres, the two officials resigned 15 days go “in a mysterious and untimely way,” Torres said.
“We spend time talking about Chiriboga, but we must investigate them, the two czars of the Ecuadorian oil,” he said.
The complaint of Cayambe could be called ‘Ecuador Papers’ because it involves national companies.
“There are 30 billion dollars in tax havens and 280 Ecuadorians are the owners,” announced Torres during his speech, which was much longer than Cayambe´s (I).
