Isaias Brothers will defend themselves in the USA

After recovering freedom last Friday after paying a bail set at a hearing in Florida, United States, brothers Roberto and William Isaias indicated that they will defend themselves in that country on charges of alleged immigration irregularity.

The Isaias have lived the last 19 years in the United States and in Ecuador they are accused of embezzlement and they also have an extradition order against them. Meanwhile, the Isaias family, through a statement, described as unfair the detention of the ex-bankers by the authorities of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

“The hearing was ordered on Friday, March 8 by the federal judge of the Southern District Court of Florida, Kathleen M. Williams, who in the habeas corpus hearing, ordered the bail hearing within a maximum period of 7 days, to be assessed as illegal the detention of our relatives, “they explain in the statement.

The Isaias blamed the arrests of “correístas and enemies of always” that, according to them, deceived the authorities of the United States.

Regarding the trials in Ecuador, the Isaias pointed out that there are still pending appeals and proceedings, but that the institutions and the judicial function must recover their independence, after which, according to them, “the unfounded accusations made against us will be clarified.” (I)
