Carolina Jijon, director Quito Botanic Gardens, pointed out that just the reforestation of a natural remnant would cost around seven thousand dollars and decades of recovery. However there are several nurseries to repopulate with local plants the sectors burned by the flames.

Studies made in the area by environmental groups recommended that it’s better to let the land rest and start a cleanup process of the remains and the roots of unnatural trees in the area. Afterwards the process of reforestation would begin. AV
