Japan will not Attend the Copa America 2011

The president of the Japan Soccer Association, Junyi Ogura, confirmed from Asuncion, Paraguay, that his country will not participate in Copa America 2011, to be held in Argentina from July 1^st.

Once confirmed the news selections of Costa Rica and Spain, last world champion, would be the possible candidates to replace the Japanese team and thus complete the list of 12 teams participating in the tournament.

Japan was part of group A in Copa America together with Bolivia, Colombia and Argentina, host of the Cup.
