Jaua said that Chavez leads a “battle for life” in Cuba
Former Vice President Elias Jaua said the Venezuelan president, who has not made a public appearance for over a month, is “battling for his life” in Cuba.
“As always the situation is complex and delicate, so true is that Hugo Chavez has fought and continues to fight for his life,” said Jaua during a meeting in Caracas, with the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), which was broadcast on state television VTV.
However last night, the Minister of Communication, Ernesto Villegas, said the president’s health has change in a “favorable” way, adding that “the respiratory infection he presented is under control, although the president-commander still requires specific measures to solve his respiratory failure,” he said in a statement broadcasted by the media on a national radio and television.
According to the doctors’ traffickers and government spokesmen, respiratory infections are consequences that often occur after complicated surgeries. They added that the medical condition suffered from the respiratory failure shortly after the surgery is “stationary“.
