Juanes debuts as a writer with “Chasing the Sun”
Colombian artist Juanes presented yesterday his first autobiographical book “Chasing the Sun”, in English and Spanish, written by himself, without the help of a ghostwriter.
The artist confessed that it took him six months between the gathering of pictures, the writting and documents reviewal. “I was carrying my laptop everywhere, was adding things as I was remembering them. A place connected me with the other “, he said.
In this book, Juanes addresses moments of his life: his childhood, adolescence and youth, delving deeper into the feelings that were present in each of those moments, and told how getting to the top cost him his family and spiritual life. The exhaustion after years living on tour, the separation with his manager Fernan Martinez, the regaining of the control of his time and devotion to family.
“Actually, I am very thankful to God today, with life, with music,” he said. “A lot has happened, most I never dreamed they could happen.” It’s like a magical story that has come true and I wanted to share it with the fans for that very reason. Without that journey I could not be here. “
