Julian Assange will be granted asylum in Ecuador
According to official sources inside the Ecuadorian Government in Quito, which were quoted by The Guardian, President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa has agreed to give political asylum to Julian Assange despite the outstanding legal issues and the reaction that might have the U.S., Sweden, or the U.K.
“For Mr Assange to leave England, he should have a safe pass from the British government. Will that be possible? That’s an issue we have to take into account,” told Foreign Minister of Ecuador, Ricardo Patiño, to Reuters today.
At the moment, Julian Assange faces the prospect of arrest as soon as he leaves the embassy for breaching his bail conditions. MZ
