Lack of cosmetic products concerned commercial sector

Consumers and sellers of cosmetic products by catalogue realized the scarcity of these products. Many traders claim that they performed their orders monthly and receive only half.

Meanwhile, representatives of each brand have communicated that the lack of stock is due to the new import regulations, issued by the Ecuadorian Institute for Standardization (INEN for its Spanish acronym.)

Several Yanbal sellers, received a letter last December 16, in which they were informed that starting this month “the Ecuadorian Government has implemented new measures in terms of imports and has made certain adjustments  that restrict them in the cosmetics sector.”

A consultant explained that restrictions has been made  when it comes to makeup powders and foundations. However, when it comes to perfumes and jewelry, supply is normal since these items are manufactured in the country.
