Lady Gaga Discovers “The New Justin Bieber”

A 10-year-old Philippine girl has become a YouTube phenomenon overnight. Maria de Lourdes Aragon, who lives in Canada, uploaded a home video to YouTube last night, she filmed herself singing “Born This Way” while playing the piano. Hours later, Lady Gaga saw the video and tweeted it to her followers (more than eight million people follow the mother monster).

“Can’t stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future.” wrote the artist on Thursday. Since Gaga tweeted the link of the Aragon’s video, its views on YouTube have been increasing very rapidly; at the moment, it has has 1’692,814 visits.

Twitter community have called Aragon “The new Justin Bieber,” referring to the story of the teen idol who jumped to fame by uploading home videos to YouTube, Bieber managed to impress Usher, who catapulted him to Hollywood.

Aragon was leaving school when a limousine arrived to pick her up and take her to a radio interview. The news were all over the media, Maria has been receiving a large number of press calls, so much that her 22-year-old sister had to act as her “publicist.”

“This is just the beginning” Maria said in a telephone interview with The Billy Bush Show. “I am excited and overwhelmed,” she added.
