The artists confirmed their participation on two dates. The first will be on June 9, at the CAC of Quito. In September they will be in Guayaquil.
The Argentine Ricardo Siri Liniers and the Ecuadorian based in Chile Alberto Montt confirmed through their accounts in social networks two dates of presentation in Ecuador.
The first will be on June 9 at the Center for Contemporary Art (CAC) and the second is planned for next September at the Book Fair (FIL) in Guayaquil, which will take place from September 5 to 9.
The show of this duo of media illustrators consists almost always of alternating a monologue with the audience and assembling an illustration simultaneously.
From the jokes and themes that will emerge during their presentation, one of them will draw what is possible on a giant canvas. This is almost always projected on a wall so that the audience can witness how the strokes build characters, stories and celebrate the humor of the interaction.
Somehow, the viewers become creators of this game. The show they have called The Illustrious Liniers and Montt, Stand up Illustrated “is a place to have fun and behave badly,” Liniers said in an interview.
The public that knows its sweet and sarcastic comics will see the authors in another stage. Here the illustrators play to show their most politically incorrect side, of an acid humor. For Alberto Montt “the fear of failure is a marvel”.
Liniers would add that “is horrible, but stimulating.” Both in Quito and Guayaquil the space for this show is limited. In the case of FIL of Guayaquil, this has been the only meeting with international guests that the organization has confirmed so far.
The expectation will continue until the next press conference, which is expected to announce the other authors who will participate in the fourth edition of this meeting. On the other hand, the short novel contest Miguel Donoso Pareja was opened, with a unique prize of $ 10,000.
Illustrated stand-up dialogue
In its proposal, the illustrators are interspersed to dialogue with the public while the other, simultaneously, works on an illustration on a giant canvas from the dialogue that is generated.
IV edition of the Book Fair hopes to confirm their guests at a press conference.
