Lourdes Tibán talks about constitutional amendments

Posted On 17 Aug 2019

The Assemblywoman of Pachakutik, Lourdes Tiban, in an interview with Ecuavisa mentioned that the president wants the reelection and for that purpose he has 100 submissive votes in the Legislature, thus, she makes a call to continue protesting on the streets today because Ecuador lost the fear.

“This is no longer a march of left or right, as the Government raises, and it wants to confuse us, the Ecuadorian people is against the policies of this government,” our position is that, said the legislator.

“If the government continues being stubborn, foolish, as it has always been, pretending to submit to the Assembly the bill again, we will see (President) Rafael Correa on the streets face to face in 2015, 2016 … ”

On the dialogue process convened by the regime and the fact that citizens are better informed about taxes on inheritance and capital gains, Tiban replied: “Government supporters are always talking crap. I walks on the streets without bodyguards, but I do have the certainty and security of what I can say on television, so if Pabel Muñoz (of Senplades), and government supporters walked through the markets or go by bus, and if the conversed freely, then let’s see what people tell them. They only see percentages, Rafael Correa is still dreaming he has the 80% of popularity -He said it during a weekly address 15 days ago- but it turns out that 82% of citizens do not want indefinite reelection through constitutional amendments but through a referendum.”
