Luce DePeron writer dies in Quito

Luce DePeron
French writer Luce DePeron passed away this morning in Quito, at age 84, after suffering a long illness that afflicted his lungs.
DePeron suffered for a long time because of a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and then was complicated by the kidneys, liver, due to his advanced age.
This Spanish artist also worked as a journalist, cultural promoter and radio host. Moved by dancing, music, poetry, painting and design. Her training took place in Europe and the United States, where in 1948 he graduated in Philosophy and History.
In 1952 came to Ecuador, where she met the Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamín, whom she married and had three daughters: Dayuma, Shirma and Yanara. After many years, the relationship ended in divorce, however Luce became an engine of cultural activity in Quito, where he opened the gallery Arts.
