Lula Undergoes His Last Chemotherapy
Posted On 12 Dec 2011
The former Brazilian president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva returned today, December 12, to hospital Sirio-Libanes in order to undergo the last of his three chemotherapy sessions.
Lula assured that thanks to his doctors and the chemotherapy he was able to fight the laryngeal cancer that was diagnosed to him last October 29. The former president is “confident” of the success of the treatment.
The chemotherapy started on October 31 and after some tests they will see if it has managed to reduce or make his 3cm tumor disappear. If the results were positive, the treatment would continue in January of 2012 with sessions of radiotherapy. Today the former president will spend the night in the hospital. (AV)
