Maduro will be elected president in charge and will convene elections
President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello revealed today that at 19:00 (18:00 Ecuador Time), Nicolas Maduro will be appointed as head of state in charge of the country and the ceremony will be held at the Military Academy, place where the Funeral Chapel of “Commander” Hugo Chavez Frias is being held. Chavez, who led the Venezuelan people for 14 years, died victim of a severe cancer.

Cabello also reported that Maduro will make “the call for elections when appropriate, in accordance with the Constitution within the next 30 days.”
It should be noted that Chavez made it clear that Maduro, 50, must be his successor and take office temporary while waiting for elections.

The National Electoral Council of Venezuela (CNE) is waiting Maduro’s appointment as president in charge and the statement of absolute absence of the president (Chavez) by the National Assembly to call for official elections.
